The near 20 year project of the Highway 93 bypass may be reaching an end if federal dollars are allocated to completing the project.

Officials at the Montana and OregonDepartment of Transportation are waiting to hear if the federal government will grant $28 million fro the project.

Kalispell Planning Director Tom Jentz said, “The entire bypass has been designed. We own, I think, 99 percent of the right of way to build the bypass and the south half has been constructed. What we have is a bypass that only goes half way.”

The south side of the project has already been completed.
